BASDAKO WHITE SAND BEACH

Basdaku Beach is a really pretty beach. It is in Moalboal town in south Cebu. The sand is very white and soft. Palm trees grow along the beach. The water is sparkly green. Waves are gentle, good for swimming. The beach goes on for a long way, over 1 km. You can swim, sunbathe or play in the water. Fish and corals live under the sea. It’s easy to see them if you wear goggles or go diving. The beach has beautiful scenery above and below the water. It feels like a paradise by the ocean. Basdaku is a relaxing place to visit on holidays. You’ll enjoy looking at the beach and ocean. The beach makes you feel happy and refreshed.

PESCADOR ISLAND

Pescador Island is a tiny island located close to Moalboal town in southern Cebu. It is less than 100 meters wide. The island sits directly west of Basdiot Point. Pescador Island is known for its beautiful underwater scenery. There are big grey fish called frogfish living there. Also, the island walls are full of colorful soft corals and tunicates. These corals are home to sea snakes, eels and many types of reef fish. It is a rich spot for marine life. Visitors can see the fish, corals and other ocean creatures up close by diving or snorkeling near Pescador Island. This makes it a popular destination for admiring Philippine ocean wildlife.

TURTLE POINT

Talisay Wall and Point in Moalboal, Cebu know as “Turtle Point” is a popular diving location due to its beautiful underwater scenery and abundance of marine life. Just one kilometer from Panagsama Beach by boat, this dive spot features a stunning wall drop-off oriented with colorful corals. It has also earned the name Turtle Point as it acts as a sanctuary for sea turtles. Patience is required though as the turtles don’t always appear immediately. Nonetheless, divers and snorkelers are treated to glimpses of the large, peaceful creatures in their natural habitat along with other marine animals. With its rich ecosystem and reputation as a turtle refuge, Talisay Wall and Point makes for an memorable diving experience that highlights Cebu’s aquatic attractions.

THE SARDINE RUN

The sardine run in Moalboal is one of the top tourist attractions on Cebu island. It features large schools of sardines that move together in mesmerizing synchronized patterns, almost as if they are dancing underwater. Snorkelers can swim amongst the bubble-like masses of fish, observing their coordinated movements up close. While South Africa has the largest sardine run display, Moalboal offers an unparalleled experience that is second in size globally but tops it for accessibility and proximity to shore.

OSMENA PEAK

Osmena Peak is a highly elevated mountain on Cebu island that offers scenic views. At 1,013 meters above sea level, it is among the highest points in Cebu. Located within Badian town, the mountain is most easily accessible from the village of Mantalongon in nearby Dalaguete. In addition to its great height, Osmena Peak is known for its dramatic cliff faces and stunning rock formations carved out over time. Hikers are rewarded with panoramic vistas taking in much of the surrounding landscape from the summit. Its natural beauty and challenging hike make it a top destination for outdoor enthusiasts seeking exercise and scenic beauty on Cebu.

CARCAR PASALUBONG MARKET

Cebu must try the local delicacies of chicharon, lechon and ampao. Chicharon is a crispy pork rind that is deep fried to perfection – it’s both flavorsome and satisfyingly crunchy. Lechon, or whole roasted pig, is another classic – it is cooked until juicy and succulent. Ampao is a sweet treat made of rice that has a crunchy texture beloved by those with a sweet tooth. Trying these famous regional specialties offers visitors a tasty taste of Carcar City’s cuisine and culture through dishes like the crispy chicharon, tender lechon and sweet ampao rice snacks.
